A LOOK BACK AT OUR EXPANSION
The Adirondack Club
Ground Breaking September 2017 - Grand Opening October 2018
Our major expansion project took a year to finish! This page was used to update our amazing members and prospective members during the biggest renovation the club has seen since opening in 2000!
The Adirondack Club opened in the summer of 2000 and has proudly served our community for 17 years by delivering the most comprehensive fitness, tennis and wellness programming available. We continue this commitment by adapting to the always changing needs of our members through improvements to our facility and program offerings.
CONSTRUCTION PLANS! Summer 2017
We are very excited to announce design details for the next chapter in our story. Construction has just begun on a new tennis, fitness and recreation facility that is currently occupied by tennis courts 1-4 in the upper tennis dome. This new facility will be a pre-engineered building on the footprint of the existing dome and will include two indoor tennis courts and a two-floor, 18,000 square foot multi-purpose recreation facility. This new space will enable the club to offer expanded programming that has seen significant growth and increased demand. We expect the project to take 10 months once started. For a period, we will be operating on 4 tennis courts.
This new, multi-functional space will include:
A Basketball court
A Performance Training Center with turf and rubber workout areas serving members of all ages
An indoor Cycling Studio incorporating the latest in sound, lighting and equipment
An expanded strength and conditioning area
An expanded physical therapy treatment facility
Classroom and meeting space

The roof is on the tennis building and the siding is going up! We are now attached to the original building!

The steel frame for the building is going up! Over the next few weeks the building will be enclosed and preparation for indoor work (electrical, HVAC and plumbing) will begin. There will be lots of
noticeable changes day to day...very exciting to watch!
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE - February 14, 2018
We are very excited that construction of the steel frame for our new building will begin next week – a big step for sure! This process will take about 10 weeks and will include installation of the tennis courts. Once built, work will begin on the electrical, HVAC and plumbing. To better meet the needs of our members, we are adding two additional family changing rooms and a women’s restroom on the lower level where our Pilates Studio was previously located. The current Cycling Studio will be the future home of the Pilates Studio. The new building is scheduled to open in August, but if we can deliver the space sooner we certainly will.
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE - December 1, 2017
Our work crews have been busy as they continue to prep the worksite. Demolition of the existing foundation and footings continues, along with demolition and re-routing of the site drainage. You’ve no doubt noticed the marquee tent installed to give our tennis players a bit of cover from the elements as we move into the winter season. The loading dock area is back in use with a binder coat of pavement. The electricians have installed the first stage of underground utilities to our newly poured concrete generator pad. Gas service to our new building has been installed, along with isolation valves to accommodate future expansion of facilities. All of this work has been possible due to our members support and understanding. Thank you for dealing with the noise, equipment, traffic changes, and all of the other attendant changes that come with the process of growing your club and your experience. We will be working at this for many months...and we can’t do it without your cooperation and understanding. Thank You!
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE - November 3, 2017
It's starting to happen...construction is underway for our expansion! We know you've seen the plans on the board in the lobby and the changes occurring outside. We're excited to share our progress with you!
Temporary fencing has been installed on the site, along with erosion controls at the perimeter and catch basins. Site work has begun with removal of the tennis court asphalt and the installation of new drainage pipe and structures. In coming days, trenching and grading will be done with heavy equipment in the loading dock area to install new drainage.
With access to the lower dome changing, our Tennis Members will be accessing the courts via the walking path. A new turnstile door installed at Court 5 will be the main entrance/exit to the courts. The bridge turnstile door will now serve solely as an emergency exit. We are working hard to limit the unavoidable disruptions that come with creating our exciting new space. Periodically we will have heavy equipment entering and exiting the worksite so please use extra caution while walking and driving.
We appreciate your patience and share your enthusiasm for our expansion!
