Aquatics Director

The Adirondack Club, located in Franklin, MA, is accepting resumes for the position of Aquatics Director.  This is a full-time, senior management position that requires exceptional organizational skills and the ability to communicate with parents, children and staff.  The ideal candidate has managed a large Swim School program including class development, instructor scheduling, and fielding questions from prospective participants.  Previous experience managing a lifeguard team is also desired.  An understanding of financial and payroll concepts is necessary and familiarity with marketing and social media promotion is preferred.  We offer a very competitive compensation package for the right candidate, including extensive club benefits and three weeks paid vacation.  Qualified candidates should email a letter of introduction and a resume to Robert Hinrichs at rhinrichs@adirondackclub.com.  

Aquatics Director

Description of Responsibilities

 

 

  • Swim School and Lifeguard Staff Management – Hiring, training and scheduling

  • Swim School management and development

  • Marketing & Promotion – All outlets including social media, in-house and direct mail

  • Payroll processing 

  •  Staff training and continuing education of teaching and guard staff

  • Member Events – Planning and Execution

  • Financial Processing and Reporting

 

Required:  Current Lifeguard Certification

Manager On Duty

A Manager on Duty (MOD) is a part-time position which assumes responsibility of managing and overseeing the staff of four departments Member Services, Childcare, Aquatics, and Fitness. We are currently hiring for a Friday 5pm-9pm shift with additional MOD shifts throughout the week based on coverage needs. Night and weekend availability is required.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Open/Close the club turning on/off all electronics, lights, computers, and equipment.

  • Respond promptly and respectfully to member complaints and suggestions.

  • Recognize areas of improvement and make changes using good judgment. For example, allowing lifeguards to leave early if it is raining.

  • Delegate work to front desk staff such as filing, printing brochures, and other tasks as assigned.

  • Monitor the member check in process and address issues that arise on member’s accounts upon check in – balances due, membership expired, etc.

  • Record any maintenance issues that need attending to in the system log. In case of a maintenance emergency call the facilities director.

  • Give prospective members a tour and be an expert on all different types of memberships and programs the club offers.

  • React calmly in emergency situations and contact the appropriate people.

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous management experience

  • Adept at resolving issues promptly and thoroughly

  • Positive attitude

  • Reliable for expected schedule

  • Relevant customer service experience. Experience in the Fitness, Aquatics, Retail, or Hospitality industry preferred.

Lead Preschool Teacher

The Adirondack Club Preschool is seeking a qualified Lead Teacher to join our team. Our teachers are passionate about teaching and delivering a play-based curriculum that fires up children's curiosity, imagination, creativity and seeks to instill into children a passion for learning. We value parents as partners and see children as capable. Active Kids is a small preschool with a kind and caring team who are dedicated, love to learn and support each other. Teachers enjoy consistent weekly schedules in assigned classrooms with low student/teacher ratios, weekly planning time and assistance in meeting professional development requirements. 

 

Schedule – School Year, Part time Approx. 32hrs per week.

 

Job Requirements

Hold EEC Lead Teacher Certification

Lift a minimum of 40lbs.

Lifeguards

Mid-Day Shift 11:30am-6pm Monday-Friday

Immediate and Seasonal Shifts (weekends required & 2 after school shifts/week)

Full Or Part-Time

Responsibilities and Duties:

·         Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of an accident or emergency.

·         Inform members of current programming and pool schedule.

·         Monitor cleanliness of pool and pool deck and perform maintenance when necessary.  Alert Aquatics Director of any major issues.

·         Check and Record chemical readings at required times.

·         Communicates the rules of the facility to patrons fairly and consistently.

·         Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times and maintains a high standard of customer service.

·         Completes accident/incident reports as necessary.

·         Fulfills other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Employer.

·         Adheres to all policies and procedures including, but not limited to, timeliness, codes of conduct, dress and timekeeping.

Qualifications and Skills:

·         Valid Lifeguard, CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications

·         Previous Lifeguard experience preferred.

·         Ability to work with children

·         Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
