DROP OFF & PICK UP

  • Parents must sign their children in and out for each visit using the registration form at the reception desk and complete every line in case you are needed to be located or contacted while your child is in Childcare.

  • Only parents with children currently in care are permitted in secure areas.

  • The parent that drops off the child must be the parent that picks up the child unless you indicate otherwise, in person, to our staff.

  • We suggest leaving any toys from home outside of Childcare as we cannot be responsible for any lost or broken items from home.

RATIOS

Our childcare facility can accommodate up to 50 children at a time, with at least three staff members present during peak periods. While we typically do not reach maximum capacity, No School Days, summer vacation, and Saturdays tend to fill up the fastest. On these days, we may not be able to accommodate walk-ins without a prior reservation.

It is important to note that while our overall capacity is 50 children, we allocate spaces by age group to ensure proper care and attention.

The age groups are as follows:

  • 3 MONTHS – 12 MONTHS: Limited spaces available due to higher care needs.

  • 13 MONTHS – 3 YEARS: Moderate availability.

  • 4 YEARS – 12 YEARS: Most available spaces for reservations.

As children get older, the number of available spaces increases. However, due to the limited number of spots for younger children, we strongly encourage parents to make reservations in advance to secure a place, particularly for infants and toddlers.

FOOD AND DRINKS

You may bring snacks and drinks for your children. Please label your child's food and drink. The Center is GLASS FREE & NUT FREE and no snack may contain nut products in any form.

CPR/FIRST AID CERTIFICATION

There is always a CPR/First Aid certified staff member present in Childcare. In addition, the Director, Assistant Director, and the majority of Lead staff are also certified, with courses offered regularly for all Childcare staff.

The MOD (Manager on Duty) is always certified.

CHILDCARE HEATH AND ILLNESSES POLICIES

When to Keep Your Child Home from Childcare

To protect the health and safety of all children and staff, families must keep children home if they are experiencing any of the following symptoms or conditions:

Fever
  • A temperature of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher.

  • Children must be fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication before returning.

  • If a fever recurs within a short period of time, medical clearance may be required before re-entry.

Vomiting
  • Any episode of vomiting within the past 24 hours.

  • Children must remain home until they have had no vomiting for at least 24 hours.

  • If vomiting occurs while in care, families will be contacted for immediate pickup.

Diarrhea
  • Two or more loose or watery stools in one day.

  • Diarrhea that cannot be contained in a diaper or toilet-trained child.

  • Children must be symptom-free for at least 24 hours before returning.

Persistent or Severe Cough
  • A constant, worsening, or disruptive cough.

  • Any cough accompanied by breathing difficulty.

  • Medical evaluation may be required before return.

Runny Nose with Thick Green or Yellow Discharge
  • Especially when accompanied by fever, cough, fatigue, or behavioral changes.

  • If symptoms interfere with participation or comfort, the child may be sent home.

Eye Discharge (Conjunctivitis / Pink Eye)
  • Red or irritated eyes with discharge.

  • Children may return after 24 hours of prescribed treatment or with written medical clearance.

Lethargy or Unusual Fatigue
  • Excessive tiredness.

  • Inability to comfortably participate in normal activities.

  • Behavioral changes that indicate the child is unwell.

Difficulty Breathing or Wheezing
  • Any signs of respiratory distress.

  • Medical evaluation required before return.

Contagious Illnesses

Children diagnosed with contagious illnesses such as flu, RSV, COVID-19, strep throat, or chickenpox must remain home until:

  • They are no longer contagious, and

  • They meet return guidelines provided by a healthcare provider.

Written medical clearance may be required.

Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFM)

Due to the highly contagious nature of HFM in group care settings:

  • Children must remain home if they have a confirmed or suspected case of HFM.

  • Children may return only when:

    • Fever has been gone for at least 24 hours without medication, and

    • Blisters are dry and no longer actively draining, and

    • The child is comfortable and able to participate in normal activities.

If visible sores or rashes are still present, medical clearance may be required before return.

Rashes
  • Any unexplained rash accompanied by fever or behavioral changes requires medical evaluation before returning.

  • Rashes that are open, oozing, or suspected to be contagious will require exclusion.

  • If the cause of a rash cannot be clearly identified as non-contagious, written clearance from a healthcare provider may be required before return to childcare.

We reserve the right to exclude a child if a rash presents a potential health risk to others in care.

Important Reminder

Childcare is a group environment. Even mild symptoms can spread quickly. We err on the side of caution to protect:

  • Infants and toddlers who mouth toys and surfaces

  • Children with developing immune systems

  • Staff who care for multiple children each day

If a child becomes ill while in care, families will be contacted and expected to arrange pickup within a reasonable timeframe.
